Follow our travel journey through Zanzibar. First, we delve into the rich history of Stone Town. Learn about the Swahili and European influences througout this historic town. Wander the streets and admire the beautiful architecture and visit famous landmarks; including the haunting and infamous slave market.
Next, we visited the popular tourist destination Nungwi beach in Zanzibar, located in the northern part of the island. During our time in Nungwi beach we also visited Kidoti Garden in Kendwa, which was one of the quietest parts of the island. Kidoti Gardens was the perfect retreat, where we were able to explore the local area on bicycles, paddle board into the sunset and even kayak to our own private island! We also took a trip to Kendwa for Zanzibar’s full moon party at Kendwa Rocks – a must if you want to dance the night away under the moon.
We then headed to the east coast of the island, where we discovered our favourite beach. Here were visited the serene and tranquil Michamvi. Enjoying private beaches, paradise gardens, and skyscraping palm trees. Not to mention the most picture perfect sunset we have seen in our entire life!
Finally, we travel to Paje beach and Jambiani, also on the east coast of Zanzibar. We explore the Kuza caves to learn more about the history of the island. Enjoy an afternoon of kitesurfing or alternatively a cold Kilimanjaro beer on the beach. Paje beach is also the place to go for an evening of fun nightlife. Just wander the beach to discover a number of cool bars and restaurants.
